Old church of Santa Eulàlia de Puig-Oriol
The old church of Santa Eulàlia de Puig-Oriol is located in the cemetery of Santa Eulàlia de Puig-Oriol, next to Mas Puig-Oriol. The cemetery is located about 600 metres from the municipality of Santa Eulàlia de Puig-Oriol, in the municipality of Lluçà.
The first preserved historical records of this church date back to the 12th-13th century. It was a suffragan of Santa Maria of Lluçà. We assume that the old church of Santa Eulàlia de Puig-Oriol was affected by an earthquake in 1428, which led to its restoration in 1435.
This building was replaced in 1855 by the current church of Santa Eulàlia de Puig-Oriol. This substitution turned the old church of Santa Eulàlia de Puig-Oriol into a cemetery chapel.
Only a part of the original building remains, as well as the barrel vault. This chapel has recently been restored.
