Norra
Norra is a farmhouse located in the municipality of Sant Boi de Lluçanès.
Norra was originally built in the 18th century. It is worth mentioning that this farmhouse has been restored on several occasions. One example is the inscription on one of the doors of the house “Ramon Obra Gil de 1905”.
Norra is a large building with a rectangular floor plan, with different terraces that enlarge the constructed space. The main building consists of a ground floor, a first floor and a loft.
The Chapel of Norra
Attached to this farmhouse is the chapel of the Virgin of the Conception, a small Baroque chapel. This chapel has a single nave and a small belfry with a steeple.
Norra as a war industry
During the third Carlist War (1872-76), the Norra farmhouse was of great importance. The Carlist army set up an arms factory at Norra.
Moreover, during this war, a Carlist military academy was also set up in the house. This academy trained future Carlist officers. One of its students was Josep Galceran, son of Jeroni Galceran, the first Catalan to rise up in favour of Charles V.
