Mill Bridge
The Mill Bridge is a mediaeval bridge next to the church of Sant Martí d’Albars.
This bridge crosses the Gavarresa stream and forms part of the old royal road that linked Sant Martí d’Albars with Perafita. Although carts used to pass over it in the past, the Mill Bridge is currently for pedestrian use.
The Mill Bridge is built of stone bound with lime mortar and is about 25 metres long. It has a large central pillar separating two large ploughs formed by two pointed arches. In the centre of the pillar, there is a large quadrangular hole, which has a segmental arch. The floor of the bridge is made of stone slabs, where the wear and tear from the passage of carriages can still be seen.
