Arenys de Mar is a municipality located in the Maresme region, next to the city of Barcelona! This municipality is also located next to the Mediterranean Sea.
Originally, Arenys de Mar was a fishermen’s neighbourhood of Arenys de Munt. It did not become a municipality until 1599, when Gascó de Montcada, Viscount of Cabrera, gave it the title of municipality.
In Arenys de Mar you can enjoy some of the most peaceful and familiar beaches of the Maresme, but you can also find a great number of valuable heritage elements!
Horta Matanzas
Horta Matanzas is a noucentista style building located in Pompeu Fabra Street, in the centre of Arenys de Mar.
Originally, this was a house located on the outskirts of Arenys de Mar. It must be said, therefore, that with the growth of the municipality, the Horta Matanzas house was integrated into the urban fabric.
Horta Matanzas is a two-storey building with a marked noucentista style. The walls are made of stone, although all the openings are framed with exposed brickwork.
However, the most outstanding feature of this building is the large porch at the entrance. This porch is formed by two columns, which apart from the porch, also support a balcony on the first floor.

Arenys de Mar is a municipality located in the Maresme region. To get to this municipality you can use the N-II, C-61 and C-32 roads.
You can also get to this municipality by public transport. In this case, we recommend that you check the timetables before setting off on your journey!
