The Train Market, also known as the Tram or the Rengle, is a modernist style construction located in the Gran Square, in the urban centre of Mataró, in the Maresme region.
This building, located in the centre of the Gran Square, was built in 1892 by the architect Emili Cabanyes. One year later, Josep Puig i Cadafalch made a reform in the roof. In 1979, this building was restored by Isidre Molsosa and Montserrat Torres.
This is an elongated building, where the different stops are separated by cast iron columns. The most striking feature of this building is its vaulted roof, which serves as a ventilation system.
