The Traginers square is located at the end of Baixada de Viladecols Street, in the Ciutat Vella district, in the historic centre of the city of Barcelona.
In this square we can still see a small section of the old Roman wall of Barcelona. This wall was built during the 4th century AD, replacing the founding wall of Barcino in the 1st century BC.
In all sections of the Roman wall of Barcelona, we can see a large number of towers. Most of the towers of the Roman wall were quadrangular, except for the towers that were located at the corners of the wall. The towers of the corner pieces were circular, as this way they left fewer dead angles in case of attack.
At this point in the city of Barcelona, we can see the only remaining circular tower of the Roman wall of Barcelona.
