The Tower of Can Cabirol is a medieval tower located at Avall street, 8, in the town centre of Arenys de Mar, in the Maresme region.
The Tower of Can Cabirol is an old defensive tower, with a rectangular floor plan, which was built during the sixteenth century. It can be said, therefore, that this building was heavily remodelled during the 20th century.
The tower has four floors with windows framed with stone. At the top of the tower there are two matacanes, and a circular tower, at the corner of the tower, with large loopholes.
This building belonged to the Cabirol family. In fact, one of the members of this family, Francesc de Cabirol Andreu, was distinguished, in 1779, as a citizen of Barcelona, by King Carlos III. He was also appointed, in 1795, as a knight of the Principality of Catalonia by King Charles IV.
