Sots-Tinent Navarro Street is located south of Jaume I Street, parallel to Via Laietana, in the district of Ciutat Vella, in the historic centre of the city of Barcelona.
In this street we can still see the remains of the ancient Roman wall of Barcelona. This wall was built during the 4th century AD, replacing the founding wall of Barcino in the 1st century BC.
Along this stretch, we can see different towers attached to the wall, which gave a greater defence of Barcino.
The Roman wall of Barcelona had a height of about 10 meters, and a moat that was between 5 and 10 meters deep. In the moat is where the sewers of the city flowed. In addition, between the moat and the wall there was a roundabout of the wall.
