The Ancient Schools of Alpens are located on the Placeta, right in the centre of Alpens, a village on the Lluçanès plateau.
Without knowing the architect and the year of construction, we assume that this building was built in the early twentieth century. The original function of this building was to locate the school of Alpens, although nowadays it is a private residence.
This is a rectangular building, with a ground floor and two storeys high. The walls are made of stone, and are battered. We can only see the frames of the openings that are made with exposed work. We can emphasize, of this building, the decorations with crystals and polychrome bricks that present the different windows.
One of the curiosities of this building is that the openings are smaller and simpler as they gain height.
