Galceran Chair
The Galceran Chair is a geological formation in the shape of a chair. This monument is located on the Sant Sebastià coast, next to Prats de Lluçanès, in the municipality of Lluçà. A curious feature of this rock is its engraving of a stick and two spheres.
This geological formation is known as Galceran Chair. It bears the name of Josep Galceran, a resident of Prats de Lluçanès, as he supposedly died there in 1840.

Who was Josep Galceran?
Josep Galceran was a resident of Prats de Lluçanès. On 5 August 1833, Josep Galceran led an uprising, along with 50 other men, calling for Charles V as the new Spanish king. This act was the beginning of the First Carlist War (1833-1840) in Catalonia.
Josep Galceran was a Carlist leader and acted mainly in Central Catalonia. Around 1840, Josep Galceran was wounded in the Galceran Chair while observing the fighting in the Merlès Valley. Many historians say that, due to his wounds, Josep Galceran died at the Galceran Chair. It must be said, therefore, that in 1840, after the Carlist army lost the war, he crossed the border to France with his two sons.
