Vilassar de Mar is a municipality located next to Barcelona, in the Maresme region.

Originally, Vilassar de Mar was the fishermen’s neighbourhood of Vilassar de Dalt. It was not until 1784 that Vilassar de Mar became an independent municipality.

Although Vilassar de Mar does not have a large municipal area, in this municipality you can find natural places of great beauty. In fact, in Vilassar de Mar there are some of the quietest and most family-friendly beaches in Catalonia!

But you can also find a great number of heritage elements of incalculable value!

Fornas House

The Fornas House is located in Sant Pau Street, 16, on the seafront of Vilassar de Mar.

The Fornas House consists of a ground floor and two upper floors. The most outstanding feature of the Fornas House is the sgraffito decoration on the entire façade. It is also worth mentioning the relief decoration above the lintels of all the openings. On the first floor there is also a gallery with three round-arched windows.
