Font Square of Banyoles

The Font Square of Banyoles is a square located in front of the Pia Almonia of Banyoles, in the centre of the town.

This square has been documented since medieval times. In fact, this square was also known as Mitjana Square, or Vila Square. However, nowadays this square is known as Font Square of Banyoles because of the fountain built in the 19th century in the centre of the square.

The fountain in the centre of the square, built of stone, is circular in shape. The upper part of the fountain is decorated with sculpted horseshoe arches.
