Church of Sant Martí d’Albars
The church of Sant Martí d’Albars is located in the village of Sant Martí d’Albars. This church is mentioned as early as the 10th century, being a branch of Santa Maria de Lluçà. It is not until 1154 that it appears as an independent parish.
The current church of Sant Martí d’Albars was built in 1774 in a marked Baroque style. The building is very wide and is made of stone bound with lime mortar. The main door has butt plates made of worked stone. Above the door there is a voussoir with a plain coat of arms and a niche that was used to house a figure of Saint Martin.
Above the main door of the church of Sant Martí d’Albars, there is a porthole that illuminates the interior of the building. The main façade ends in curvilinear shapes with tiles.
Another noteworthy element of the church of Sant Martí d’Albars is the bell tower, which has a quadrangular floor plan and is topped with a balustrade.
