Church of Sant Esteve de Vinyoles
The church of Sant Esteve de Vinyoles is located to the north of the village of Vinyoles d’Orís, in the municipality of Les Masies de Voltregà.
The first surviving documentary references to the church of Sant Esteve de Vinyoles date back to 957. Around 1106, a new church was built with a central apse and two side altars. In fact, between 1619 and 1685, two side chapels were built. This church was renovated again in 1892 by the priest Josep Galceran.
The church of Sant Esteve de Vinyoles has a single nave with a semicircular apse. The main façade is very simple, with a semicircular arched entrance door and a small oculus.
The most characteristic feature of the church of Sant Esteve de Vinyoles is the exterior decoration of the apse. This decoration is formed by a frieze of Lombard arches between lessens.
