Sant Agustí de Lluçanès is a scattered village with different urban centres. The centre of Sant Agustí is located next to the road that connects Alpens with Sant Quirze de Besora. The church of Sant Agustí de Lluçanès is located here.
Many people associate the origin of this church with the year 905. This association is due to the fact that this church appears in the false document of the restoration of Santa Maria de Lluçà. Moreover, this church is not mentioned in any other surviving document from the 10th century. For this reason, we believe that the origins of the church of Sant Agustí de Lluçanès date back to the 11th century, and not the 10th century.
The current building of the church of Sant Agustí de Lluçanès dates from the 18th century. During this century, the entire church was extensively remodelled. In addition, the side chapels that can be seen today were also added.
The church of Sant Agustí de Lluçanès is built of stone. The date 1734 can be seen on the lintel of the entrance door. On the right-hand façade there is a window with a lintel dated 1716.
