Vilassar de Mar is a municipality located next to Barcelona, in the Maresme region.
Originally, Vilassar de Mar was the fishermen’s neighbourhood of Vilassar de Dalt. It was not until 1784 that Vilassar de Mar became an independent municipality.
Although Vilassar de Mar does not have a large municipal area, in this municipality you can find natural places of great beauty. In fact, in Vilassar de Mar there are some of the quietest and most family-friendly beaches in Catalonia!

Can Verdaguer
Can Verdaguer is a house located in Josep Anselm Clavé Street, 14, in the centre of Vilassar de Mar.
Can Verdaguer consists of a ground floor, two upper floors and a roof terrace. Although the ground floor has been modified, the original façade can still be seen in the rest of the building.
The wrought iron work on the different railings of Can Verdaguer is particularly noteworthy. These elements are decorated with flowers, both on the first and first floors.
Also noteworthy is the ornamentation in the form of borders and sgraffito bands, together with the use of polychrome ceramics, which frame the different windows of Can Verdaguer.
