Vilassar de Mar is a municipality located next to Barcelona, in the Maresme region.
Originally, Vilassar de Mar was the fishermen’s neighbourhood of Vilassar de Dalt. It was not until 1784 that Vilassar de Mar became an independent municipality.
Although Vilassar de Mar does not have a large municipal area, in this municipality you can find natural places of great beauty. In fact, in Vilassar de Mar there are some of the quietest and most family-friendly beaches in Catalonia!

Can Mar i Flors
Can Mar i Flors is a house that is also known as Can Plantada, house of matches, or Can Mar i Flors Parc. This house is located at Cristòfor Colom Street, 156, in the centre of Vilassar de Mar.
Can Mar i Flors was built as a summer house in 1925 by the architect Josep Plantada Artigas. This house consists of a ground floor, a first floor and an attic.
The whole of Can Mar i Flors is decorated with sgraffito floral motifs, which are generally found around the doors and windows. Also noteworthy is the use of blue, yellow, and orange glazed tiles, which cover the roof of the building.
